Shortly after our wedding and honeymoon in July 2009, husby and I packed up a U-Haul trailer in Portland, Oregon and headed across the country with our cat. We spent a year living in upstate New York where I began this blog, only a few months before the lake started freezing over. Eek!
The name is a play on words from the band Mates of State----a married couple with awesome tunes that has made a family affair of their life adventures. As for us, we're excited to trade upstate winters for some heat and humidity here in Richmond. Stay tuned to where life will take us next!
